On February 13, 2008, the Town of Palmer will be implementing a mass notification service called Connect-CTY™. This service allows authorized town officials to create and rapidly disseminate time-sensitive messages to every telephone number and email address stored in its notification database.
The town will implement the system by sending out a test message between 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. using the Connect-CTY service. A pre-recorded message from Town Manager Richard Fitzgerald will introduce the Connect-CTY service and advise residents and businesses that town officials will be utilizing this service to send information out about important issues affecting the safety and well-being of our community.
Future Connect-CTY messages may contain information and directions regarding issues such as water contamination warnings, missing children, or street closures in the community. This very effective system will augment our primary emergency services and existing communication channels to keep you better informed.
