HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF AGAINST IDENTITY THEFT Tuesday, April 22, 2008 Time: 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
One of the fastest growing consumer crimes in our country is identity theft. Most victims don’t learn that their identity has been stolen until something goes terribly wrong… their credit is ruined, they are in default of unauthorized loans, warrants are outstanding for their arrest, etc. On average it takes two years and about $1400.00 for identity theft victims to clear their credit and good names. This class will describe some of the ways thieves get personal information about their victims, what you can do to protect yourself from identity theft, and what you need to do if someone steals your personal information.
